To live a maximum level of love for God is the minimum of any disciple.

First of all, this gospel reminds me of another gospel story of judgment that Jesus presents. How people will be standing before the king and he is condemning them and they will say, “well Lord, you were with us; we ate with you; we drank with you.” And he says “I do not know you! Get out of my sight!” They named him as Lord, and that’s important to notice.
There are people today, I’m sorry to say – and at the risk of sounding judgmental, but I believe there are people today who are in that same kind of situation. People who just do not understand the risks they are in because they fail to fully live up to what God has called them to. They fail to live in the holiness that God wants in their lives. They find it more comfortable to accommodate the world, and as a result they end up with problems – not just here on this world, but they end up with problems for eternity.
